Irish Blog Awards 2008

Monday, March 03, 2008   |   9 comments

Two photees of the 2008 Blog Awards via Rymus. Top pic is Kirstie [left] & monself [middle] with the category sponsor after collecting the gong for Best Group Blog for Beaut.ie [missing from pic is Aisling, the other Beautsketeer], and the bottom one is all the happy winners with their trophies.

Now I need to put my head down for a little nap. Can't believe how shattered I am after the night out! Truly, I am getting old.

    Awww you're so purdy! :D

Sometimes I'd look at fellow passengers to Port and wonder "is that Lynnie" but I don't think I've ever seen you. You know the way you start seeing the same faces and you give them names in your head "highly strung person who gets up at Kildare to get off train first at Port on the 5.10 train", "guy with porkpie pat, skinny jeans and designer runners" "guy with army bag and purposeful stride" "guy with squidgy face". God knows what people refer to me as!!!

hmmm just noticed that there's a guy in the front row of the bottom picture who looks like someone who used to work in this office. Before my time, but he was involved in the office magazine, so it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that he'd be doing writing of some sort!

Ah, thanks Deise! I have gotten a fringe since the pic was taken & always wear me specs during the week so I reckon I'd be hard to recognise from this ;)

I think I know your "guy with porkpie hat, skinny jeans and designer runners" - is he tall and beardy??

Oooh also is it the bloke second from the left in the tan cord jacket that you think you know? Just wondering because when I met him at the awards I was convinced that I knew him from somewhere, but I still can't place him!!

Yes, beardy guy! He always looks so....er...fashionable! Especially compared to me slobbing up the road in my MBTs and my coat which really could do with a trip to the dry cleaners! Some people ALWAYS get the same train on pain of death and others flit from train to train like him. I am a flitter as well. I finish at different times so I am all over the place. Beardy is such a great word btw!!

Yes, tan jacket guy! He was in a "join the civil service, it's great!" brochure years ago but I wouldn't say you know him from that unless you have a really freaky memory for that sort of thing! I know his name from the old magazines we have in the office and I did a quick Google and it appears he's involved in a blog called tuppenceworth.ie His articles were usually quite funny so fair play to him for going on with it!
