Day 2!

Wednesday, September 24, 2008   |   10 comments

Right, well I'm assuming this business of putting up pictures of yourself on t'Interweb is somewhat akin to getting a Brazilian: thinking about it is (usually!) worse than the act itself and it's best to get the damn thing over with as quickly as possible.

So, with that in mind, I thought I might as well do another post and throw up an auld pic of what I wore to work today:

Attempting to break away from jeans... Day 2!

This is the dress that I worried was not work-appropriate, and er looking at this I'd say me gut instinct was spot on! Ah well, there are no young fellas - or older men in positions of authorotay - in my department so it's not like anyone can accuse me of trying to seduce De Boyis.

* LBD with bubble skirt, Topshop (current stock, also available in electric blue which I would dearly love to be able to wear)
* Black lace shoes, L.K. Bennett
* Purple tights, Topshop
* Yellow vest top, stolen from the sis (she's a great one for picking up these on the Continent, so she is)
* Belt, as above ;)

Jaysis, I may go and have a lie-down after all that excitement...

    lovely lovely again! love the tights. and the yellow t-shirt goes nicely with the dress. i think it's perfect for work, of course depends what kind of company you work for. it's smart casual, isn't it? if you can wear jeans to work, you can defo wear this dress.
    when can we see your face???

    Holy moly missus, what were you doing up at that hour?! Yeh I love the idea of black on black but find it's inclined to totally wash me out, so have to put a bit of colour between it and my face!

    Ha ha I have a *total* phobia about putting a pic of my mush up here so eh not for a while anyways! Maybe I could just put up shots of 2" square random bits of my face, bit of a forehead and eyebrow today, some cheek tomorrow... ;)

    i couldn't sleep! it's awful.
    i can't wear black near my face either, very few people can, i think. it's nice to break it of with another colour (though not white, for me at least!) makes such a difference.

    yeah, post random bits of your face and i'll photoshop them together :)

    Ah you poor thing, that's awful. You must be exhausted. Do you usually suffer with a bit of the auld insomnia? I'm pretty lucky, usually my head need only hit the pillow for me to conk out completely, but the odd time that it takes me ages to go asleep or I wake up in the middle of the night and can't nod off again I get *so* frustrated.

    Hope you get a good night's kip tonight now so you're ready to start Photochopping me tomorrow ;)

    Ah lynnie you inspired me yesterday to want to wear something fabilis today. I had great intentions. .......
    Then i got up this morning and lo and behold i was a lazy cow and got into my staple leggings, uggs and smock top! Im stuck in a rut and cant get out :(
    I wouldnt mind but im a total shopaholic and used to take great delight in planning new outfits for each day. Since i started work in a rurual office with bogger men ive kinda let myself go!
    Im swearing after New York im going to get back in the swing of things and start dressing properly again!
    I dont know how u do it with the commute an all.
    When i was commuting i was one of those annoyong people who did their whole slap application on the train in. God how i dont miss the 6.30 am athy to dublin,

    PS - In case i havent already bored you to tears with excitement about my upcoming holiers...... i just had to add that i am not leaving the city this time without treating myself to some over-the-top girly girly bits from Tarina Tarantino. Im currently thinking of a necklace and bracelet but i will keep you updated as to when the purchase is made!!!

    Hee hee Rox, best laid plans and all that! Anyways, I think your "rut" outfits sound lovely, wish my rut was that stylish.

    Oh I'm so one of those people who does the slap on the train/bus, usually I'll manage to get my foundation on before leaving the house but I try to do everything else before I hit the office. The only things I wouldn't do are brush my hair or put on bronzer (for fear of strands of my hair winding up on other commuters or creating a bronzing cloud that people would have to inhale. Which would be a total waste of bronzer ha ha!)

    And you are so not boring me about NY, for flip's sake I am living vicariously through you! Oh I think you *need* to get something from the Barbie & the Pink Head ranges though, sure if you just get one the other will feel all sad and left out ;)
