Talon-tastic Thursday: '90s Easter tribal mash-up

Thursday, April 05, 2012   |   12 comments

These nails have been in place since Monday and, with the exception of a crack in my broken right thumbnail, are still pretty much perfect. Which is good, since I'm very fond of this particular paint job and might just wear it until it chips right off my nails.

Like my FOTD earlier in the week, this was an Easter accident that turned out to have sexy results; I started doodling over my purple and green polish and this was what happened. Nice!

Incidentally, this is my first ever attempt at tiger/zebra stripes - I can't believe I never tried them before, but I heart them.

Colours used:
Ciaté Sugar Plum
Topshop Gone Fishing
Black nail art pen

Hey Rach, they're random cheapy ones that I picked up on hols - useful or wha'! They're a brand called Easy Paris and they're the "short and squeezy" style of nail art pen.

The brush part of them is absolutely dreadful to the point of being un-useable (sheds like crazy!) but I still like them b/c the nib itself is super fine.

Loving the two-toned look especially, so cute! And the pinky finger looks absolutely amazing, can't believe you can do both hands- I have trouble doing polka dots on both as it is, couldn't imagine full on designs.

Thanks for all the comments, ladies! It's so encouraging to get feedback on the designs x

Jun - lots and lots of practise, that's all!

Rose Eva - well, the designs on my right hand always take me a bit longer to do (and look considerably wobblier) than the ones on my left ;)

Sarah - am working on a tutorial on it for Beaut.ie, will be posting it this week and will explain all :)
